I can't believe my little Brooklyn is one all ready! Remember when you were little and the days seemed to drag on and on...? Now time flies and I find myself feeling panicked and trying desperately to hold on to the sweet memories created every day, that will soon fade and become nothing but a period of time in my life long gone. So, time has been marching on and Brooke turned 1 on January 13th. She still isn't walking, (or standing, really) but her vocabulary is growing every day. She is so fun and keeps us laughing every day. One of Brookie's favorite things is to play with her baby dolls. She gives them so many loves...hugs, kisses, and then passes it to the nearest person so they can give the baby loves, too. It makes her so happy to see us lovin on her baby dolls! Brooke is a very happy baby and she loves her family...while she is a momma's girl right now, she has so much fun with her awesome daddy and has a special soft spot for him. She loves and adores her big sis and wants to be just like her. They play so well together and love to laugh together. We had Brooke's birthday party on Saturday afternoon. She wore the same lady bug dress that Kate wore on her 1st birthday.
Grandma Chelle and Pop gave Brooklyn a pillow pet, which was perfect because she LOVES soft, cuddly things. Anything she comes across that seems cuddly, she immediately snuggles right up to and says "aahh". It's so cute! Grandma and Grandpa also got her a baby doll that coos and sucks on her bottle...Brookie loves her!
I put a few balloons and streamers on the ceiling fan to decorate for the party. Brooklyn was so impressed with them, and every couple minutes would look up to make sure they were still there!
Brooke also got a very cute baby doll and hair bow from Aunt Becky and a fun pan set that rattles and has a mirror and other fun stuff from Nana. Thanks so much you guys! She loves all her gifts, as you can see in these pictures...she was so excited! Mom and dad got her a tickle-me-Ernie that she thinks is hilarious!
I made a tres leche cake and gave Brookie a piece to dig in to. She wasn't sure about the whole thing at first, but once she got going she loved it! She ate almost the whole thing! And then some green beans. And some pasta. Ahem. Happy Birthday, Goo! I love you so much and can't imagine our lives or family without you. You are such a blessing and a happy little spirit in our home. We are so lucky to have you!
